I lied.
It is also a lot sooner than expected. Let's talk gardening.
Guess what?! Spring has sprung! Above is just a small selection of the seeds which have been planted. We have very high hopes for our little homestead this summer. Naturally to make room for the hundred or so (not joking) seeds that have been dug into soil with much love, we needed to expand our garden. The three beds from last year were simply too small. This Easter weekend we built three more raised beds in one of our fields. Unfortunately the chosen field is on a lower level than the house and existing garden. So one project led to another as they always do...
Can you guess what he is building?
I don't have much patience and probably neither do you...
It's a stone staircase!
I planted wildflowers and poppies in the beds along side the stairs. You know, the really hard part.
Looking down the stairs at the new beds
There is still a bit of work left to do on the beds, but the stone stairs are a new favorite around here. We walked up and down them just because. I think I have about 12 pictures of it. They all look the same but we are excited!
So cool! I love the stone stairs! I can't wait to see the pictures of all of the flowers once they've bloomed.
ReplyDeleteWhere did the large stones for the steps come from? They look great, and I love the added touch of the trunks at the bottom! How are the seeds doing so far? I think ours came up faster than we thought they would. It was too early to plant them outside when it came time to move them and we didn't plan for moving them into pots, so a few have since perished. :( Hopefully you are having better luck!
ReplyDeleteI love gardening. Awesome that you have so much space for planting!
